University of London Press

University of London Press is a specialist humanities publisher, building on a century of publishing tradition. From September 2019 IHR books will be published Open Access as an imprint of the Press.

About the Press

The University of London Press is a publisher of leading research in the humanities in a range of print and online formats. Until 2019 the Press was the publishing division of the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and its staff have extensive experience of producing a range of titles for the School and its institutes.

University of London Press builds on a century of publishing tradition by disseminating distinctive scholarship at the forefront of the humanities. Based at the School of Advanced Study, the Press seeks to facilitate collaborative, inclusive, open access, scholar-led interchange, within and beyond the academy.

The IHR's move to University of London Press reflects the interests and priorities of an established publisher of research in the humanities, and of the Institute as a History publisher.

From September 2019 the IHR is an imprint of University of London Press.

All IHR book titles are published Open Access by the new University Press.

University of London Press and the IHR

The principal IHR book series each appear under the University of London Press imprint, with IHR and Press publishing staff working together on each title. IHR series published by the Press from 2019 are: the IHR Conference series, the IHR Shorts, New Historical Perspectives and the VCH Shorts.

University of London Press publishes print, eBook and online formats. Like the IHR, the Press is committed to Open Access publishing via its OA platform. All titles in the IHR's Conference, Shorts and New Historical Perspectives series appear as Open Access from first publication. In North America, University of London Press titles are distributed by Chicago University Press.
